SHARE (Self-Help and Resource Exchange) is a program where people can get a break on their grocery bill by purchasing food at discounted prices in exchange for volunteer time. For each package of food purchased, we simply ask for two (2) hours of some type of “good deed” time, at SHARE, in your community, or even in your own neighborhood.

Food packages (worth up to $45) offer meats, fresh fruits and vegetables and grocery items. SHARE buyers purchase the food from growers, brokers and packaging plants. Food is not donated, government surplus, or salvage.

SHARE is Unique: SHARE is for everyone. “If you eat, you qualify.” Everyone in the community can participate. Because it is for everyone, it can help break down barriers that divide people – barriers like race, religion, social and economic classes, gender and age. When we break down barriers, we can begin to see each other as real people, and begin to build community and neighborhoods.

SHARE is Community Service: Community service is defined as random acts of kindness, or service to benefit one’s neighbor or community. Anything you do for another person or organization without pay is community service. It might be helping a neighbor, teaching Sunday School, assisting a teacher, delivering meals to the elderly, organizing a group to clean up the neighborhood, setting up a crime watch, helping with scouts or little league, etc.

In Summary: SHARE is truly a Self-Help and Resource Exchange program. It is an opportunity for people to share their gifts with the community and get something in return. For some it may mean stretching their food dollars, and for others it may be the difference of whether or not a family will have food on the table.

Who Can Use SHARE?  EVERYONE and anyone can use SHARE.  There is no income verification (no proof of income), there is no application to fill out, there is no membership fee, and there is no contract to sign.  You determine if you want to participate.

Do I have to be a church member or Christian to participate?  No.  This program is open to all.  People from all walks of life participate each month.

Each monthly menu will state the last day to order and tell you the pick up date.

How do I pay?  We accept Cash, Money Orders & Food Stamps.

Is the food any good?  SHARE buyers purchase the food from growers, brokers and packaging plants. Food is not donated, government surplus, or salvage.

What if I can’t pick up my order?  We do not have the equipment needed to store orders.  Please make every effort to pick up your orders on the date designated for pick up.  All orders left are donated to the local food pantry.
