Getting Involved
Bible
Studies:
Currently there are
six studies under way. Meeting both in and out of the church
facility each group offers stimulating discussion.
Groups:
· Thursday
Prayer Group
meets each week at 11am in the adult education room
to share prayer, refreshments and fellowship. The purpose of the
prayer group is to lift up our church and community in prayer.
Prayer requests come from the Sunday morning prayer request cards,
phone calls to the church and personal requests.
· The
Prayer Chain
takes the requests and passes them through a chain of
prayer warriors.
· Prayer
Vigil
is on the last Wednesday of the month from 12:30pm to 2pm. All are
welcome to attend.
· Men’s
Club:
Fellowship group which meets monthly. Guest
speakers at monthly breakfast meetings
Youth:
· Manahawkin
Methodist Preschool
is a
non-profit school established as a mission outreach for the
community. Our purpose it to help young children to become
intellectually aware, emotionally secure, and socially adjusted in a
safe and pleasant environment. It is the philosophy of the school
to expose the children to basic religious concepts in an age
appropriate manner. Our children are encouraged to realize they are
loved and precious to God. Children say a simple prayer before
snack.
· Sunday
School
open to all ages. The groups meet weekly following
the 8:30 service in the Sanctuary and then head down to the
classrooms. The main focus is to teach the children and adults
about our Lord, Jesus Christ and importance of Salvation.

Community Outreach:
· Angel
Food Ministries
is our newest outreach. This amazing program brings quality food to
the tables of many in our country. With the cost of living rising
we believe we can be a great resource to our community with this
program. For as little as $30 a month a family can make a
difference in their food budget. But we need volunteers to make
this program all it can be.
· Nurture
Committee
is
concerned with keeping in contact with our elderly, sick and house
bound members and friends.
· ColorASmile
is a project that spreads smiles with cheerful drawings.
The students color a monthly themed drawing and send
them off to several of the local assisted living facilities. This
is a wonderful way for our students to reach into the community. We
encourage all children in our congregation to participate as well.
· Interfaith:
Members of MUMC and other local churches work together to
bring comfort to those in need
